Advanced Design for Harsh Service
The adsorption tower is engineered for continuous, unattended field operation in tropical environments. The carbon steel pressure vessel is fabricated according to strict standards, with full penetration welds and reinforced supports. All flange connections comply with HG/T 20615 (latest edition) – the international equivalent to ASME B16.5, ensuring compatibility with global pipeline systems.
To facilitate future automation and remote monitoring, the tower is equipped with DN15/DN20 threaded ports (plugged) for pressure transmitters and temperature transmitters – a customer‑requested provision for distributed control system (DCS) integration. A dedicated safety valve connection is also included, with detailed sizing data (orifice diameter, set pressure, back pressure) provided in the technical datasheet, allowing safe venting into a common flare or relief header.
Uncompromised Quality Control – 100% NDT
Every critical weld and load‑bearing component has undergone stringent non‑destructive testing:
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) – per GB/T 11345-2013, performed by Level‑2 certified technicians (GB/T 9445 or EN 473). Applies to all main shell seams, flange‑to‑shell welds, and forging interfaces.
Radiographic Testing (RT) – per NB/T 47013.2, with Level‑2 national certification. Covers 100% of the circumferential and longitudinal welds on the pressure‑retaining envelope.
Complete UT/RT reports, including inspection records, evaluator qualifications, and acceptance conclusions, are provided with the shipment.
Logistics & Site Preparation Support
Base plate & anchor bolt layout drawings
Equipment net weight, operating weight, and total weight
Nozzle orientation & centricity data
Manifest and Spool Pipe support brackets (pre‑welded to the vessel at 30° intervals, allowing easy field installation of additional pipe supports)
Corrosion Protection & Painting
The external surface is protected with a multi‑layer coating system: primer + intermediate + topcoat, with specified dry film thickness (DFT) data provided per job requirements. The system is suitable for outdoor tropical service and salt‑laden environments.
Structural & Process Design
The tower integrates optimized gas distribution, high‑efficiency mercury adsorption media, and robust pressure vessel structure. Key components include main pressure shell, upper/lower packing supports, charging/discharging ports, manholes, pressure gauge connections, safety valve port, sampling tank (50 L, 10 MPa), and reserved ports for pressure transmitters and temperature transmitters (DN15/DN20 with plugs) for remote monitoring and automatic control system expansion.
Piping, elbows, and brackets are pre‑assembled in the workshop to simplify on‑site installation. All flanges, valves, and fittings comply with latest HG/T 20615 standards to ensure interchangeability and safety. A 50 L sampling tank with inlet, exhaust, relief valves and pressure gauge is equipped for real‑time gas component analysis.
Quality Control & Non‑Destructive Testing
Strict quality control is implemented throughout fabrication. Critical welds, pressure shell, and flange joints undergo 100% non‑destructive testing (NDT), including:
Ultrasonic Testing (UT): per GB/T 11345‑2013
Radiographic Testing (RT): per NB/T 47013.2
All inspectors hold Level 2 qualifications per GB/T 9445 and EN 473. Complete NDT reports are provided with delivery.
Application & Performance
This mercury removal tower is designed for Ghana’s natural gas gathering and processing system, efficiently removing elemental mercury and mercury compounds to meet stringent emission standards. It supports long‑term continuous operation with low maintenance cost, high adsorption efficiency, and stable pressure drop performance.
Delivery & Project Status
